About Alabama Jacks

Alabama Jacks is one of those hidden gems that one stumbles upon and instantly feels as if a treasure has been discovered. Nestled on Card Sound Road in Key Largo, this lively waterside spot is the very definition of an informal, breezy atmosphere where the worries of the world seem to melt away. What makes it even better? The live music that plays as the soundtrack to an unforgettable dining experience.

Consider starting with their renowned conch fritters, the culinary pride of Alabama Jacks and justifiably so. These are the types of fritters that have patrons returning time and time again, always marveling at how something so simple can be so delightfully flavorful. These perfect parcels of seafood delight somehow taste like a sunny day at the seaside, capturing the essence of Florida in every bite.

However, the conch fritters are just the beginning. Alabama Jacks' menu extends its offerings to incorporate a variety of tasty seafood delicacies. Enjoy crispy fried fish or go for the classic shrimp baskets, both of which come in famously generous portions. For something a little different, try their spiced scallops tossed with lemon for a zesty twist. Whatever the choice, it's hard to go wrong.

Located at 58000 Card Sound Road, Alabama Jacks is not just about the food, though the fare is enough to create lasting memories. One can arrive by land or float over by boat, enhancing the laid-back coastal vibe that this spot exudes. As a curious flock of gulls calls overhead and the gentle breeze passes through, the setting becomes an experience in itself.

Reviews from both locals and out-of-towners have been effusive, often emphasizing the outstanding food and welcoming ambiance. Many seem drawn not only by the delicious offerings but also by the charmingly rustic character of the place. Conversations with those who've experienced Alabama Jacks reveal a tendency for patrons to reminisce fondly over their visits, each recounting stories of great meals and good times.

Alabama Jacks isn't just a place to eat; it's a slice of Florida's laid-back lifestyle, where every visit feels like a mini-vacation. We often start our trip to the Keys at this classic stop on Card Sound Road. We often run into friends even when we are over an hour from home. It is just one of those places that draw people in. It has a true Keys feel.... you are on the water with tables along the edge watching fish and boats drift by. The sun was glistening on the water demonstrating the magic that comes with the Keys. We don't always order food here but today got peel and eat shrimp that were delightful and just right to begin our journey. The bartender was chatting up some other customers so we waited a bit but like all Keys visits... we made friends with some fellow travelers. The food is served in paper plates and drinks in plastic cups so if this is a turn off for you, you might not enjoy but for us it is one of those nostalgic stops that we hit most times on our way south.

Stopped here due to recommendations from a local that worked at another restaurant. He said they have the best conch fritters around! They won the contest for the entire keys!!! He didn’t tell a story either! They were great. We also had the fish tacos and shrimp & crab spring rolls. We had everything to go to make sure we didn’t miss our flight! Love the scenery! Waitress was outstanding also!

Ice cold beers, I had their bowl of chili and a roll to hold me over to dinner. Waitress was very considerate and made sure everything met our satisfaction. The restaurant was the open side hut Key Largo style which was very comfortable and pleasant with water flowing beside our table and nature was feeding in front of us

We had a great time here. "DOG" was our bartender and he took great care of us. Total mix to locals & tourists. Definitely worth stopping by! We split the Conch Chowder, mozzarella sticks & a burger = great stuff.

If you are looking for a dive type bar this is your place. But don't let the exterior fool you, the food is phenomenal. Served on Styrofoam and using plastic utensils this truly lets you know that this is a simple place to relax and kick back. Located right on the water with a view of boats, fish, birds, and mangroves. The license plates scattered throughout the joint really make it a cool spot. It took 5 trips to the Keys to find this place. So happy we veered off Hwy 1 to Card Sound Rd. A little scenic detour to get to Key Largo. I highly recommend it.

This is a hidden gem! The service was great. My family and I were seated immediately and told we could choose anywhere. We sat by the water, which was very entertaining. The food was also a 10/10. My son got the combo meal with conch, Mac n cheese, fish sticks, and crap cakes. It did not disappoint. my husband and I both got blackened Mahi Mahi tacos - his on tortilla shells and mine as lettuce wrap. This is a great option if you are Gluten Free. And, they have plenty of other gluten options available. I also loved the decor there. You really need to see it for yourself! The prices were extremely affordable, the locals were wonderful, and the food was top notch. I highly, highly recommend stopping here!
